first destination, Memphis. Because of the distance we must
travel, we will arrive in Memphis tomorrow morning. |

Memphis
|
| Just
as soon as we
arrive in Memphis, we will gather our bags and begin our tour to see
Graceland, home of the King of Rock N Roll, Elvis Presley. You
will see the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum, Elvis’ Lisa Marie Jet and
The Sincerely Elvis Musuem. His clothes and gold records are all
on display and you will be able to buy a souvenir or two. |

Memphis
- Branson
|
Before
we leave this
city this morning, known as the Home of the Blues and Rock N Roll, we
will drive through Beale Street, where trumpetman William Christopher
Handy wrote the first blues number. The street was named after an
unknown military hero in 1841 and was the headquarters for General
Ulysses S. Grant during the Civil War. Its heyday was in the
1920’s, when the area took on a carnival atmosphere and gambling,
drinking, prostitution and voodoo thrived alongside the booming
nightclubs, theaters, restaurants, stores, pawnshops and hot
music. Also nearby is Sun Studio where artists such as Jerry Lee
Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Elvis started their music
careers. It was at this studio that a truck driver named Elvis
Presley walked in to make a record for a Mother’s Day gift. When
owner Sam Phillips listened to him sing, “That’s All Right Mama”, he
knew he had heard something special, a new sound soon to be known as
“Rock N Roll”.
Our destination today is Branson. We are driving through the
state of Arkansas from east to northwest to Missouri. If all goes
well and traffic is not too bad, we should be there by late
afternoon. After we arrive, we should have time to get ready for
dinner and then go to see the Andy Williams Show at the Moon River
Theater named for Andy Williams’ signature song. (subject to change). |
| September 15 (Sat) |
Branson |
We
have a busy day
ahead. We start with the Buck Trent Morning Show with breakfast
(subject to change). Buck Trent is a country music artist who
will delight you with his spectacular banjo pickin’ and relaxed country
humor.
Then in the afternoon, we will go to see Kirby Van Burch, known as the
Prince of Magic (subject to change). His show features Kirbam the
white tiger, lions and other exotic animals. He was named the
1999 International Magician of the Year and has performed spectacular
illusions such as “The Secret of the Pharoahs”, “Levitation on Water”
and “The Unbelievable Appearing Helicopter”.
Our evening show is the New Shanghai Acrobats of China (subject to
change). Because of their rigorous training that starts at an
early age, this excellent acrobatic production has won them Medals and
Prizes for their skill and creativeness.

Branson |
The
morning is free for
you to relax. We will try to see if we can visit the Stone Hill
Winery for a tour and a chance to sample their products. From
here, we will see if we can visit one of Branson’s factory outlet
malls.
Our first show today is at noon onboard the Showboat Branson
Belle. Lunch is included as we enjoy a musical variety show
performed by a talented cast of emcees, singers, dancers, and comedians
celebrating memorable moments in music that have changed the face of
entertainment forever.
This evening, we have saved the best for last, the Shoji Tabuchi
Show! This is Branson’s premier musical production and you will
see why. Shoji Tabuchi, an accomplished violinist, along with his
beautiful wife, Dorothy, and daughter, Christina, is Branson USA’s
first family of extraordinary musical entertainment. With Shoji’s
sense of musical perfection, he has gathered the right professional
musicians, while Dorothy along with a renowned choreographer, has found
superb dancers and vocalists, all of which has created a performance
ranging from country to classic and lovely ballads and songs of the
50’s and 60’s. All of this is showcased in a theater that is a
phenomenon in itself.
