October 7 (Thu) Asakusa / Kappa Bashi Dori / Asakusabashi

Asakusa

Today will be spent in three areas of Tokyo, Asakusa, Kappa Bashi Dori, and Aasakusabashi.  Our first stop will be Asakusa, which is a famous Japanese landmark, known for its giant red lantern.  The surrounding area, Nakamise Dori, has numerous handicraft stores selling things like beads.  From there we will go to Kappa Bashi Dori, a kitchen wholesale district, where you can find everything from plastic food to the kitchen sink.  For our last stop we will explore Asakusabashi, an area noted for wholesale handcraft items, from stamps and paper to beads and cords.

October 8 (Fri) Ueno Zoo / Ameyoko / Akihabara

Ameyoko

Our first stop of the day will be to Ueno Zoo, Japan’s oldest zoo.  It offers the widest variety of animals.  From there we head to Ameyoko cho, a food wholesale area where we can find everything from candies and cookies to dried seafood.  Our last stop will be to Tokyo's electric town, Akihabara.  Here the latest electronics can be found alongside costumed figures from Japan's animation history.

Tonight, we will have a special farewell dinner.
October 9 (Sat)

The morning is free to relax and finish your packing.  Our last stop before we head to the airport is a visit to a local shopping center where you can stretch your legs and have a late lunch on your own.  We depart from Tokyo in the evening for Honolulu.
